Lots of problems with that movie not befitting Star Trek canon...the red goo, for one, was kind of stupid. But remember, it's a Starship traveling at a constant speed on a known vector, with its shields off.

In fact that what happened in First Contact, it was the Borg who teleported to the Enterprise and nearly assimilated the entire crew.
Teleporter as a weapon is only viable if the target is either unshielded or if the Enterprise has the shield frequencies matched.

The Borg tends to be able to teleport into target ships because they can quickly match shield frequencies, hence it is important for Star Trek ships to randomly rotate shield frequencies to delay attacks by the Borg.

One advantage of the Enterprise D is that it is an exploration with advanced sensors and a powerful computer system. I think it would be possible to use the computer (and help from Lt.Commander Data) to lock on to moving Tie Fighters and Tie Bombers... but I would think it would be pointless since Tie fighter/bomber weapons will not be able to penetrate Enterprise's main shields.

BUT a pilotless TieBomber could be teleported so it would be aimed aka kamikazee back into the Imperial Star Destroyer.

Then the imperial star destroyer would call its big brother, the death star.

The Star Wars books arent a great source. If the Imperial Star Destroyers are really that powerful, they wouldn't need a Death Star to blow up planets. just a dozen destroyers would do to reduce the planet surface to rubble.

Teleporters have limited mass capacity. Otherwise, Starships would not need shuttles. Backpack nukes may be possible,

Teleporters have limits based on it's targeting system and range (can it lock on?). That is why star-trek starships still have shuttles. It also requires energy. In the middle of a battle, it might be more important to route all power to shields.

no contest. Imperial Star Destroyers are designed for battle. you can actually consider it as a carrier battleship. it has 6 heavy turbo laser, 2 heavy ion cannons, plus 6 tie squadrons (72 tie fighters/bombers). and, aside from its main guns it has multiple small to medium weapon arrays for dealing with smaller targets.

the Enterprise's shields would be overmatched and go down in the first salvo from the Star Destroyer. gg
