I am not sure if that guy in Araneta Avenue still lives or someone took over his shop. We used to go there and just give him the dimensions. He will make the box including the carpet and even the terminals. The shop was in front of Winterpine.

No, ACA is along the same side as Winterpine. It is across the street from Winterpine. Walang name yung shop but you can see subwoofer boxes displayed.

    mdf. medium density fiberboard.
yan siguro y ung 3/4 or 1 inch "plywood" na may palaman.

the lawanit i remember probably qualifies under high density fiberboard. i remember, it is darker brown in color and mas mabigat siya sa ordinary plywood.
i have not seen lawanit in decades...

    plywood in lieu of MDF.
sound-quality-wise, i do not think the differences between MDF and plywood will matter that much.

MDF doesn't hold screws and nails as well as plywood.
some plywood have a rougher surface than MDF. you will have to sand it, to smoothen it.
plywood splinters when cut. you will have to work on the edges to smoothen them.

    bottomline,
the available product always has the edge over the non-available product.
