Funny because when we need to do major house repairs, she says it's my house so I should be contributing so I can learn how it is to maintain a house. And then I tell her it's not in my name. hahaha!

    pagbigyan mo na.
eventually, it's all gonna be yours.
so if you don't do good repair now, in the long run you will probably have to spend lots more later on, when the house is already all yours, to un-do the not-so-good repair you scrimped on earlier.
do the best that you can do now. hindi ka magsisisi.
you can not win over the wisdom of the ages.

She pays for the repairs. She hopes I will hahaha. Pero lately ayaw na niya because it's too matrabaho. My Dad used to have our house painted regularly but good trabahadors are hard to find nowadays Our 80s to 90s pintor "Mang Joe", he was so meticulous. As a child, I watched him paint, it was perfect at walang lampas. All furnitures moved and covered. Floors are covered. Yung recent papinta namin ang BABOY

the saying is still very much alive:
"if you want something done right, you do it yourself."
    either that, or
    1. you hire a very good contractor; or
    2. make bantay like a hawk, criticizing everything the trabajadores do.

I am supposed to paint our whole house? Some things are better done by experts. I had respect for our old pintor because he did his job well, and based on the quality of his work, he took pride on it. Yes, everyone can paint but not everyone can do it like a professional with years of experience. Kapag maayos ang character ng tao, hindi kailangan bantayan. The problem is workers like "Mang Joe" are hard to come by nowadays. Bihira na yung meticulous at may pride sa trabaho nila.

BTW, hindi ako reklamador and I am not exaggerating na puro BABOY mag trabaho mga nakukuha namin lately. They could not even paint the ceiling well, pati yung stone sa wall napintahan ng puti. Hirap kaya tanggalin ng paint sa stone.

then you can have your choice between #1 and #2 .

professional pride is difficult to find nowadays.
but if picasso can do my house...

    i remember a story.
a famous painter and a friend were having lunch at a restaurant. their animated conversation turned to necessitating drawing figures on the tablecloth.
at the end of the meal, the master asked for the chit.
the waiter said, "maestro, if you would but sign the tablecloth, the meal is for free."

#1 Wala nga mahanap that would come close to the quality of work of Mang Joe.

#2 Hindi kami ganyan na nakabantay at nag criticize. Basta hindi na lang kami uulit pag pangit mag trabajo

    my dad would make bantay.
then, late one night, i found him in the construction.
apparently, he wasn't happy over how the workers did it, and he was re-doing it himself.

45 years later, it's still in as good condition now, as it was, back then.

Pag immidiate family usually wala nang bayaran. Usually ok lang sa kin. Pero pag mga 2nd level na like tito eh masama na loob ko, sa una ok lang pero sa susunod "wala ako ngayon eh".
