Wow I didn't realize how lucky and ungrateful I was. Last year when our VP in HQ asked if I'm happy, my face couldn't hide my disappointment. E dapat pala super happy ako

My Dad gave up a lot when he had kids. Dangerous kasi mag bike

A lot of us would probably have the same thoughts... and the same reason not to.

My take is daming hindi maingat sa kalye ngayon, kahit gaano defensive and kaingat ka. In the last three to four months i've been hit from behind four times on EDSA:
    - Three of the them i was at full stop in traffic (two were motorbikes who were not looking where they were going, one was a driver who was most likely texting while driving),
    - One time i was slowing down to make a right turn (drunk driver).

As I assess it, there are far more risks than thrills with the ownership of a sporty big-displacement bikes. Those small bikes are not something that interests me.

I then used that house as collateral for a small cash loan which i used to buy cheap land in QC. When the price of the land went up, i paid off my existing loan and mortgaged my more expensive property in QC to get more cash to fund other land investments. Me and my wife used our combined incomes to pay off the loans as fast as possible. Double income helped tremendously. Parents' generosity also helped big time. And we were always borrowing money to buy land. 17-18 years ago, price per sqm wasnt even 6k.

Loans and leverage are your friend.

Thanks a lot for sharing bro. We have very different starting points, but the experience you shared is still a very helpful lesson.

Loans and leverage will really help accelerate wealth accumulation. I'm very debt-averse but loaning for business or real estate is a good idea.
