Being in the province most of the time and being in close proximity to many beaches...I realized I love the city much more.
The beach as a weekend getaway is great, but to live away from the urban center isn't for me. I guess I'm still chasing after a lot of things in life that I don't want to give up the fast-paced lifestyle of Manila just yet.

ive tried living in the province for a year, its a bit of getting used to, but once youve settled in, it aint that bad, when there were no cellphones yet, i used to walk a kilometer from my grandmother's house to this store just to call home or a girl that time...long distance, i used to receive snail mail, from friends and family..when was the last time youve been excited bout recieving mail from the mailman, btw, if i send it on a monday, sometimes ill go back home to pque by friday evening, the letter is still not there..and there was no street lights...it was pitch black...thats why around 8pm, everybody at bed..sarap lang i recall

I love OB's post about chasing the baby piglet. Hahaha. How da hell did that get injected into the conversation? Panalo talaga.
But yeah the beach life for me. Not the boracay kind mind you. Just a quiet home on a quiet cove. Driving distance to Manila or wherever the home base is. Its been a dream for over 20 yrs. Always found excuses not to do it. Wasted time.

A nearby beach and a golf course, that would be fun. Maybe get a job that's work from home.
Golf in the morning, work middle of the day at home, then a sunset walk on the beach. That would be a good life.![]()

Sounds good hehe. I'd probably just replace golf with mini golf and I'm set.
Thinking now if I should brave the crowds in Dangwa. I should've gone on Sunday or yesterday.![]()

Yup, exactly. Unless you have your own business in the province, economic prospects are bleak.
Also, family is in Manila. And wherever family is, that's where home is. No matter how much I enjoy spending days waking up to the waves in La Union or the cool mountain breeze in Baguio or the sunrise by the beach in Pagupud, I always long to go home.
I also don't want to raise a family in the province. My cousins relocated from Manila to La Union when they were young. Due to the big disparity in the quality of education in the province vs Manila, they're at a big disadvantage career-wise right now.
