That's what my doctor said as well. Closer is better for your bones. Prevents rounded shoulders. Also prevents forward head position. And lessens arm strain. Some women are too close to the steering wheel though. Chest almost touches the horn.

I'm hating on lady drivers recently. I am definitely staying away esp those in a Vios. Kanina naman may babae nakamontero nag overshoot sa parking. Buti di ako nahagip! Hay!!!!
    kanya kanya pong style yan.
no human body is created equal to another.
the recommendations you stated, are simply that: recommendations. there is always somebody out there, who is uncomfortable driving in the "prescribed manner".

Won't slightly leaning forward to the steering wheel limit your view of the side and rearview mirrors? You'd have to rotate your head instead of just shifting your eyes which takes your eyes off the road a bit longer. I tend to lean forward kasi when it's night at yun ang napansin ko na hindi ko na napagtutuunan gaano ang rear and side mirrors.

Leaning forward would be good if modern cars still had fender mirrors.

May nakikita akong Innova na may stainless poles na nakakabit sa magkabilang dulo ng front bumper (much like the ones sa jeepney) with matching mirrors na nakatutok pababa sa license plate pa para kitang-kita talaga ang bumper. Looks dorky but I'm sure wala nang patantya tantya ang driver sa parallel parking.

Hmm .. how close are you sa manibela? Di na kaya habulin ng adjustment ng side mirror angle and rearview the way you lean?

Ako naman no matter how close or far ako sa steering wheel as long as my back is well rested(always flat) sa seats ok na ako, slide the seats na lang if gusto malapit.

Paano kung subcompact ang sagwa naman. Pero sa jazz madali lang kasi maliit. Ang mahirapan yun mahahaba like civic.

you have no idea just how soft them front ends of cars are, nowadays. it can spell the difference between a broken bone and just bugbog na binti.
and knowing just how expensive hospitalization for a broken leg bone is, i'd choose ten front end repairs over a broken bone, anytime. it's probably cheaper.

Sa bawat sasakyan na namaneho ko, CUV, SUV, Van, Pick up truck, sedan at hatchback, di ako dikit sa manibela, tanaw kita ko both side mirrors at rear view mirror at a glance of my eyes in an upright, slight lean out position. With my back rested flat on the vertical seat.

Reminds me of my wife's late girl friend who we once rode with in Marikina. Everytime any vehicle seemed to be getting too close (when actually they were still within their respective lanes) she would blast her horn with matching point and p.i. Even a lone pedestrian walking along the side of the road in a subdivision was not spared from her horn's fury. What's funny is she would converse normally with my wife then suddenly switch to beast mode whenever a vehicle creeps towards us.

In fairness though, I think she was just too afraid to get into an accident kaso sumobra naman sa pagiging aggressive bumusina.
