what brand and model of printer to buy?

what i need is a good quality printer which has a low maintenance cost (murang ink), and has a good track record from other users.

mostly to be used for printing text, secondary use to print pictures.

    TIA!

daming models ang HP and Canon. EPSON kasi medyo marupok. Lexmark, medyo mahirap pyesa.

    ayaw mo mag dot-matrix? ;)

i'd go for a canon printer. poor kasi ang track record ng hp sa akin.

hp cartridges are quite expensive. >1k. May mga inkjet printers ang canon at epson that have cartridges at the 500 peso level.
I own kasi an HP printer at inis ako pag magpapalit ako kasi napakamahal ng cartridge. Replacing both the black and tricolor is equivalent to buying a low end inkjet.
If i were to buy I would buy a Canon XNU i255 (http://www.villman.com/products/spec...canon/i255.asp)
black ink niya mura *315 according to this

mura pa kaysa mag pa refill ng hp catridge sa ink for less

if you're looking for quality, HP deskjets ka na...cartridges are a bit expensive though

dot matrix printers are more expensive than entry level color inkets....and inkjets are faster pa....but if you're planning to print multipart forms, dot matrix talaga bagsak mo...mura ung ribbon pero mabagal

kung b/w lang naman ippiprint mo, consider laser printers na rin...HPs are quite good.

i would suggest epson c41ux, though these printers are basically not the same as hp printers pagdating sa patagalan ng ink. but mura cya at least half the price. nice print quality photo quality to emphasize, this is a good buy. i had one at the house, though i misss my hp because i usually replace my cartridges yearly with my hp. as for the epson, normally it takes 2 months.

    thanks!

my old printer was an epson. ok pa naman sya dati. e linagyan ng refill, ayun! hindi na nagprint.

kung ang epson, it will take at an average of 2 months for it to need replacement of ink while it would take hp 1 year; i think mas makakamura sa hp. tama ba?

ian_rex, what do you usually print ba?

about the dot matrix printer, we still have an epson lx800 kasama pa ng 386 computer namin yun dati. still going strong! hehehe

pag canon, may nagrecommend ng xnui255.
pag epson and hp what model would you guys recommend?

printing jobs are more on printing text (90%) and printing pictures(10%)

HP 1210 me printer, copier at scanner ka na, maganda rin ang design, rectangular in shape....naipo-fold yung mga tray kaya space saver din...

yung HP 1510 me slot na para sa mga memory stick, sd, mmc, cf cards etc... direct printing nang pictures ika nga... mas mahal nga lang though but same size at dpi nang HP 1210...

di ko lang alam kung meron dyan sa pinas...but it is a good buy talaga...kung may winfax software ka, may fax machine ka na rin...

Bought a PC recently and a printer from PCX. I got a Canon MPC 190. It's a 3-in-1 printer-scanner-copier na for only P6.5K. The print quality is good, plus mura naman ang ink cartridges (around P300 for the black and P500 for the colored). Haven't replaced any of them yet though coz wala pang isang buwan yung pagkakuha ko.

my budget is up to 4000 only.
i've narrowed down to these models (prices are based on villman's current prices)
    -epson c43ux P2495
    -epson c63 P3995
    -canon s200spx P2195
    -hp 3550 P2650
    -epson c61 P3695

currently, i'm eyeing the epson c63. it has 3 separate cartridges for the colored inks at 445 each while its black ink cost 625.

Yung Canon parang ang dali maubusan ng ink. Ang liit kasi ng mga tanks. Pero yun ang gamit ko ngayon.

I do have an HP (with refilled ink) just in case.

Since I print mostly documents, I replaced my very old Canon BJ200 with a HP laserJet 1010. The toner cartridge is good for an estimated 2000 pages, as estimated by HP and refilling it will only cost between P600 to P900.

    Resolution is around 600x600dpi.

    Price is around P10,500.

Its quiet, fast and cheap to use.

i'd go for HP, I have bad experience with epson...the printer head kasi is built-in so pagnag-clog, wala na. whereas HP have the print head on their ink....pangit lang magpa-ink refill ng more than 3x minsan kasi the head siguro ay nasisira na rin.

overall b&w pringting, I'd say nothing beats the HP laser printer, mahal lang an acquisition cost but it is very cheap to maintain and last a life time.

My laser is HP Laserjet 1100 - P17,000 nuong 1999...running upto now....consumes one toner a year (I do a lot of printing ng document mga 5-6 reems ng papel a year).

My color printer is an HP Deskjet 3550 - P2,350 early this year....running well pa naman upto this time but di pa ako nakapagpalit ng ink (back up ko lang eto and for the kids - mga pinapaprint nila na colored).

naglalabas na rin ng laser printer ang epson... bago pa lang sila.... medyo mura compared to the same model line sa HP .. although yung mga consumables wala pa akong makuhang presyo kaya di ko pa alam kung mas mura o mas mahal ang consumables sa hp o sa epson..

speaking of toner cartridge... pwede pala i pa refill yun? pano? san? by how much? dumadami na ang tambak kong empty toner cartridges for the hp1100 i always thought na ang refill ay ginagawa lang para sa ink jet cartridges... pwede nga?

lastly.. they (epson, canon, hp) all make their printers cheap coz it's the cartridges where they really earn their money...
