Nothing wrong with that. If you have extra money to spare, why not. Like you said, he was a good servant before.

He showed us the demand letter and computation. My Mom also asked the driver of my Uncle who knows our former driver and lives in the same area if it's true. It's a Gawad kalinga housing.

I will help as long as I am capable. I see our house help as family din kasi. When a family member (someone I treat as my second mother) got hospitalized, it was the wife of our former driver who made bantay at the hospital and I was really grateful for that gesture. Maasahan ko rin naman sila. I feel a little guilty that we were not able to give the whole amount, pero magawaan na siguro niya ng paraan since we gave more than half already.

That's why I always keep the relationship with employees professional.

They always approach my mom when it comes to things like this. They always asked my mom first don't tell me dahil baka daw magalit ako pag himiram sila or Meron kailangan.

If umalis na I don't think it's still obligation na tulungan Sila. Lalo na pag matagal na wala sa employment namin.

What happens if he goes back to you and says, "Ma'am ginawa ko na po lahat. Pero kulang pa ako ng bente mil. Pwede po ba dagdagan at buuin nyo na? Tatanawin ko ito ng malaking utang na loob. Kung hindi namin mabayaran ito bukas mawawalan na kame ng bahay at ng mag-iina ko."

If your driver can't manage yun amortization now. Ganun pa rin mangyari diyan. They're just prolonging the agony.

How much lang ba hulog ng Bahay nila per month? Kung umabot ng 45k. Matagal na hinde nagbabayad.

But anyway. Nabigay ninyo na. So just charged it to experience.

I also don't know why it ballooned to 45k (43,700 to be exact sa paper) but it looks like they did not make any payment. Kasi my Mom said gaano ba katagal hindi nagbayad, ang sagot niya matagal na siyang member. hahaha. Anyway we did not push it anymore.

That's what I said, baka enough na yung 25k na pauna. April 29 kasi deadline nila to produce the money. Marami rin kasi may gusto makuha yung rights dun sa lupa kasi nga mura. Parang 116k for 25 sq m

I also don't know. Pero siguro naman hindi na sila hihinga pa e hindi pa nga bayad "utang" nila.

My Mom is complaining to me that our former driver only paid in the first 2 months so that's a total of P2k

Sometimes I am disappointed in my Mom because she can't seem to empathize. Although I do think she has a point that our driver needs to make a bit of an effort to pay just whatever amount. We loaned him April 2017 and it's already 2018

He still drives for us and gets paid (but not full time anymore) I told my Mom DO NOT bring up the topic of his loan because we cannot afford to lose him completely. But it makes me think, does this mean lista talaga sa tubig?

Mukhang ganyan na talaga ang mangyayari.... He will not have the capacity to pay you back in cash....

Maybe in kind, as you're telling us, minsan bantay sila sa hospital...

IMO, that is a significant thing for consideration....

kung masipag at trusted nyo si driver ok lang pahiramin sya ng cash lagyan nyo lang ng limit. Mapaguusapan nyo naman paano nya mababayaran. Mahirap humanap matino driver ngyon.

why not make him full-time again? that way, he might be able to pay off a bit more.
o, gawin nyong hardinero or something.

i vaguely remember, may covering story ito. but i can't seem to remember...
