what hard drive do i need?

i googled the different hd's...but i cant seem to understand all of them.herherherher

i need a hd mga 200 gig and an external case for it (usb)

dami ko kasi nababasa iba ibang klase ng hd..may sata...pata..diamond edition...shyet,

ano ba pagkakaiba nun?i just need the hd for storage ng videos and mp3's mostly.

If you can afford it I would suggest getting an external maxtor drive.

SATA/PATA refers to the interface (cable) connecting to it.

Diamond, Barracuda etc. refer to the model line.

just get those sold sa pcx or pccorner. sata/pata, you will have to upgrade your cables and i think your mobo also.

internal HDDs yun fafa glenn. usually more expensive ang mga external units.

ewan ko lang dito, but from work experience with US customers, western digital hard drives fail early.

sir glen yung external hdd ay mas mahal. (ranging from $100 - $200USD)yung maxtor one touch na lang kung external ang habol mo. nakagamit na ako noon (asteg na pang store ng videos!!!)...meron itong USB interface at the same time may firewire interface ...USB interfaces have slower transfer rates compared to firewire interfaces...
well ok lang naman na USB cable ang gagamitin kung hindi mo ieedit yung video, hindi naman magiging sluggish ang panonood mo. but if you'll be processing your video (eg, gagamit ka ng video editing software), mas maganda kung firewire cable ang gagamitin mo.

interface nga pala eh yung mode of cable...

hindi ko naman kailangan ng mabilis na transfer rate kasi purely for storage lang naman ito.

internl hd kailangan ko yata plus the casing
