what do you miss about 80's and 90's

Life was simpler and traffic was lighter when I was growing up in the 80s back in Davao.

However, there are a few things then I would not have.

- early 80s, nobody speaks harshly against the government. Nobody wants a visit from the R2 unit of the Philippine Constabulary. There was a term before that scared every common folk, "Gusto mo madampot ng R2?"

- mid 80s, prelude to Cory era and peak of Communist insurgency. When you hear exchange of gunshots, take cover when you are outside or turn off the lights when inside your house. Police units and NPA Sparrow units take their fight to the urban areas. Local folks arm themselves to fight NPA rebels seizing your money and property in the name of revolutionary tax.

people who grew up in pque...who remember queens?

Not me. But, I remember the strip bars in Oklahoma City. I think both were closed down for repeated violations. At the time, both performers and servers/waitresses were totally nude. I loved it.

If I remember correctly, one of them told me half of them were students at the University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State U. Gotta earn a living.
