Speaking of, ngayon wala na akong makitang mga firefly at dragonfly sa lugar namin unlike dati na tuwing hapon, daming lumilipad.

It only means that Metro Manila's air is too hazardous for them to breath.

Isa pang nami-miss ko eh yung mamaril ng wild chicken at baboy damo. Bibihira na kasi yan dito sa amin. Nung 80's madami pa yan eh.

Sa Negros dati, my father and uncles used to hunt for wild deer deep in the mountains. Thats when I got to taste real "tapang-usa". I was around 8 years old then.

The taste and texture of the meat was a bit gamey for me ...

Sa amin namang village/lugar bro.,- lately, nakakita ako ng dalawang alitaptap... Ayos!

Iyong tutubing kalabaw/karayom,- palaging mayroon....

At saka, iyong bato-bato na ibon (quail), dati sa bukid lang namin nakikita iyon,... ngayon, palaging mayroon sa village namin... nakatambay sa may tabing kalye... Ayos!

dito sa school ng anak ko sa q.c. dami pang gumagala sa grounds nilang bato-bato. 2 species of bato bato, the zebra pigeon and the ring necked pigeon. lumalapit pa nga sa mga bata. and good that kids don't shoo them away.
other kinds of birds hanging around in the school grounds: the playful "pied fantail" at yung bastos na pangalang "yellow vented bulbul". bulbul kasi they make a sound similar to it.

I still see small brown birds in our garden. How do I know if it's quail? hehe. Most are plain brown but some are brown with a wide blue tail, What I don't see much anymore are butterflies and bayawak.
