    Sa Negros dati, my father and uncles used to hunt for wild deer deep in the mountains. Thats when I got to taste real "tapang-usa". I was around 8 years old then.

    The taste and texture of the meat was a bit gamey for me ...

    other kinds of birds hanging around in the school grounds: the playful "pied fantail" at yung bastos na pangalang "yellow vented bulbul". bulbul kasi they make a sound similar to it.
    I still see small brown birds in our garden. How do I know if it's quail? hehe. Most are plain brown but some are brown with a wide blue tail, What I don't see much anymore are butterflies and bayawak.
