What defines who and which generation is which? I mean I graduated HS in 1980. But, I couldn't stand the disco of the 70's and the New Wave of the 80's. Luckily in the US, it wasn't all New Wave like it was in the Philippines. There were plenty of punk and rock to go around. But, it was the 90's that remain my favorite.

    brings back memories,
i still remember the price of a brand new lancer (box-type) was P40k.
my funds was not enough then so i settled for a 2nd hand ford escort, got it at P10k.

it was also the decade of extended play remix LPs and the double cassette players.

Can't afford ako nun ng trets at k-swiss , Dragon fly lang at espadrilles ang meron ako, mga HS classmates ko naka Reebok at LA gear na nakalabas yung dila Tretorn at k-swiss na orig (Czechoslovakia). I have posters of The Clash, Ramones, Billy Idol at Robert Smith (The Cure) sa bedroom ko. Yung bag ko ay pix ni Ian Curtis (Joy Division). I listen to Punk Rock, New Wave and techno-punk and even now I still play their CD's and LP's in my 80's English made Manticore Mantra Turntable and my 10W APX tube amp My dream car then was the MB 190E w/c I have now

80's was the best decade of my life, this was the time when i was in grade school and high school. i can still remember the more popular athletic/rubber shoes then were adidas abdul-jabbar and adidas stan smith (early 80's), k-swiss and tretorn (mid 80's), reebok and nike air max (late 80's). but the most popular athletic shoes of the decade was converse all-star. for the topsider its sperry, for the leather shoes its haruta, zeebago (tama ba spelling ko), uso rin spadrille nun. mga usong pabango nuon ay paco rabanne, aramis, kourous, jovan. di pa gaanong monopolized ng jollibee ang fast food industry that time kaya maraming favorites like wendys, burger machine, cindys. i can still remember fave hangouts/inuman nuon are tia marias, shakeys (especially the mabini branch). uso ang new wave at punk rock (can still remember the grafitti "punk not dead"). nauso din ang breakdance at strut, disco was very popular then including mobile.

but my most unforgettable memories of the 80's was it's simplicity. as a kid i love the simple joys of playing games that would require you to exert physical efforts like taguan, siato, holen, teks, tatching, agawan base, habulan na may taya, sipa, turumpo, yoyo, patintero, dodgeball at marami pang iba. seasonal nga ang mga games ng mga bata nuon, meron pang tag-ulan at meron din pang-summer. unfortunately kids today will not experience those simple joys because they are more fond of playing computer games, playstation, gameboy, nintendo, xbox and other electronic games. also, di pa affordable ang mga personal computer then kaya di pa nag-buboom ang internet, kaya mas personal ang interaction then between two people like writing letters, telebabad sa telepono at yung face-to-face meeting/dating ay mas prevalent during the courtship period.
