Sorry, this is OT already but when I back read, I saw a post about Morato giving Bentain a certification that he had won 10M to be given a US Visa. I'm puzzled because when I applied for one, the officer did not even want to see my asset documents? He just denied us outright probably seeing that we were a family traveling together. What's worse is that he told us they have the right of refusal without need for reason. Anyway, a few years later my daughter was given one, pero di naman sya nag TNT.

"officer" from the US embassy?
it's their country, po. they can deny anyone they may deem unfit to enter their country. i know of several folks, also denied. the embassy folks did not say why.
we have the same rights for our country.

when i applied for one, the guy across the table even asked if i wanted another type that would have allowed me to stay longer...
i suppose, even among their company of trained interviewers, there is some amount of subjectivity...
