how bout yung mga pumupunta sa malls at restaurant na may dalang mga "of higher breed" na mga aso? don't get me wrong i really love dogs, cats, birds, etc.. pero sana maging considerate naman yung iba na dinadala yung alaga nila sa loob ng restaurant at sana maisip nila na hindi lahat ng tao sa loob dun gusto kumain ng may kasamang alaga

Ano naman kung mukhang Pinoy? Marami namang tunay na mayamang hindi mestiso't mestisa. Mahahalata mo naman kung sino yung trying hard na mag-English at yung ganun lang talaga magsalita.

That is so true. It's hard to tell by looks alone if a person belongs to the upper class or not. You can easily tell if a person's first language is English.

OT: I stopped judging people by how they speak the English language.

Studying in Japan, I realized people from rich SEA countries (Singapore, Malaysia and even Thailand) won't even come close to how we speak English.

But that doesn't mean they are not good because they are good. And their country progressed much faster than ours.

My point is we always pride ourselves in being good in English which doesn't mean anything really except that we can speak it better than our neighbors.
IMO, we should find other Pinoy characteristics that can help in nation building. How about being disciplined? Maybe not original but the heck with originality.

OT: I've always believed that before democracy, a country must first have discipline. Sadly, we're past the point where benevolent dictatorship will even be considered by our leaders and their constituents alike.

let's make it clear why there's that perception na speaking in english is pasosy (and basically also explain why people are labelled SCs)

people from lower socio-enonomic levels naturally want to move up the s-e-ladder

so they observe and imitate people from higher s-e-classes --- sa fashion, sa gamit, sa mga lugar na pinupuntahan, sa pananalita etc

eh ang observation nila sa mga sosyal lagi nag-e-english

so para maging sosyal din sila mag-e-english din sila

pero madalas sablay.... mali ang grammar, pronunciation, diction...

nakakairita pakinggan.... parang gusto mo sabihan "hoy! mag tagalog ka nalang!"
