My first memory of a song being played on the radio was Can't Buy Me Love as a 2year old in '69. Elementary days, I'll save my baon to buy Beatles tapes lalo na nung lumabas yung Stars on 45. I'll go to the market then, hear it playing and rush home to catch it on the radio. High school LP na binibili ko. Now, I have their complete records on LPs including Rarities, even a cover album by a group Bas Muys (boses Beatle din) entitled Lennon-McCartney Songs. Tracks included Nobody I Know, From A Window and several that appeared on the Anthology Series; Hello Little Girl, Like Dreamers Do and How Do You Do It. After graduating elem in '79, I bought a guitar in Lumanog V. Mapa together with The Beatles Songbook and that image on my post was included in it as a poster. Now, I know how to pluck Blackbird hehe. My high school days revolved around Beatles music lalo na yung White Album. After that, Wings naman.
I clearly remember where I was on December 8th, 1980, I was home that morning hearing the news about John Lennon.
Beatles books, articles, DVDs of them (dami na sa bangketa!)..adik talaga!

nung grade 5, 6, jukebox. . .then ng ibili ni ermats ng gitara, guitar sessions naman nung high school playing their music. . .those were the days!

yup, i can still point where i was exactly sa sala ng bahay when the death of john was being reported. . .nanay ko naluha kasi panahon talaga nila nung kasikatan ng beatles. . .i was on the opening day of the john lennon museum in japan. . .alam ko itinapat ng birthday nya yun e, year 2000 yata

we were in front of the british embassy in tokyo when george died, maraming taong nagtipon, nagkakantahan, yung mga babae umiiyak. .. then, diretso kami sa tavern club sa roppongi where the bands only played beatles music everyday--dun na kami nagpaabot ng umaga. . .then, 4 years later, my daughter was born on that date. . .kung boy, george ang ipapangalan ko, kaso girl, ayoko namang pangalanan ng "georgina" haha
