I doubt that this is true for the Classic Heuers (pre-TAG acquisition). But after, very likely. ETA almost has a cartel like monopoly on swiss watch movements.

For those on a budget, pwede na rin ung Tissot na Chronograph 25k lang for quartz at 40k ung automatic. Pag TAG, double or triple na ang price.

Woah, 2 weeks?

This is true, that's why classic Heuers are very desirable pieces. Modern Tags, not as much. Most watch brands don't have their own capacities to manufacture all components inhouse, plus this will make them very expensive. That's why most brands buy ebauches from ETA or Sellita (like Oris), modify them, and give them their own calibre names. But, this is going to change now that Swatch (owner of ETA) has stopped supplying movements to its competitors. We are going to see a lot of in house movements pop out in the coming years.
