I wear a Seiko Kinetic when I wear a watch... simple, interesting (it's basically a quartz run by a capacitor charged by a mechanical pendulum system) and unobtrusive. But, as you'll have noted... I hardly wear it!

If I had the money to spare, I would consider buying a nice watch... but I'd rather spend on something rarer... or maybe even a "classic" Rolex.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

I bought Rolex submariner way back 1993 with blue dial, the cost is 140k. but today i can sell this easily at 350k. its a good investment.

For one, it was a gift (from my parents). I wasn't the one to buy it.

Next, I am a practical guy. I would like to wear a watch that I can scuff up without worrying about dramatically lowering the resale price.

if i have the money then yes i'd buy one, but i wouldn't wear it every day pag may special occasion lang or business meeting. pero i'd rather own a technomarine than a tag heuer and i have a tag heuer. i like rubber straps kasi para di na gagasgas and pwede mo gamitin kahit saan at madali matuyo pag nabasa.

and i agree with alainroyce, rolex is a very good investment. tumataas ang price kahit 2nd hand di siya mag mumura. unlike other watches, my tag heuer if i sell it lugi ako.

also on a rolex, you're paying for the brand and class. just like buying a ferrari, there are other cars much cheaper than a ferrari and can run circles around it at the same time, pero iba parin ang dating pag naka ferrari ka.

i read somewhere here in tsikot na mahal din ang maintenance ng high end watches like rolex, tag, omega, etc.

parang bumili ka na rin ng isang relo.

no idea, since my tag heuer that was given to me by my dad back in 1994 had no problems until now. usually palinis lang every 3 years depends on how many times i use it and change batteries which doesn't cost that much. same with my dad's rolex di isang beses di pa nag karon ng problem ang mga rolex niya and rolex doesn't use batteries di din pinapalinisan since madami siyang rolex and bihira lang gamitin so walang maintenance yung kanya.

Matibay ang Rolex, halos maintenance free talaga. Siguro once every 10 years greasing so your watch won't be losing too much time kasi mechanical eh...
