You will never go wrong with Kyosho or Tamiya
    I have one, a Kyosho Peugeot 206 WRC 4x4, I had it since 2000

Lil's Hobby Center sa Megamall ang parati kong tambay dati. Tamiya ang marami siya although marami din ibang brand and models (planes, heli, boats, etc).

I had an old Ford Escort RS Cosworth Tamiya R/C, I still have it, and my friend still begs me to give it to him

Next time I get one, I'll make sure it's the gas type engine and not the electric type. I think the good ones today cost $300.

Before the Tamiya, I had the classic R/C kuno na may cord tapos I graduated from that and got a Nikko R/C named Big Bubba. Then I got an old Ferrari na forward/reverse/left lang kaya niya, no right turn (weird no?). Tapos ayun, yung Tamiya na...

Last time I went to Circuit City they were selling R/C models with a horn, lights, blinking flashers, engine sounds and an interior to boot! Iba na mga models ngayon compared nuon.

Heck, even Top Gear and Fifth Gear make their own full scale remote control cars!

Hanggang ngayon yata, Lil's Hobby Center pa rin ang puntahan ng mga R/C enthusiasts. There's also one shop on Shell station sa EDSA Southbound (opposite Camp Aguinaldo Gate 5), not sure if they have anything else besides the miniature R/Cs (Tamiya Bit Char-G).

I remember nung elementary ako, sikat ang Boyel nun among other shops specializing in R/C models. Wala na ata yun ngayon.

GS, he might want to consider one of these, drifting RCs, pero puwede din ata yung mga tamiya may gagawing modifications lang.

I fly RC Helicopters from time to time.

Sikorsky model, 510mm (L) x 150mm (H) Twin motor and one double rotor one.

Pang-start ko lang sa RC Flying, then i plan to buy the fuelled ones...

That's a lot harder to fly than R/C planes .

Any one here into or WAS into Radio Contol Cars? Tamiiya, Kyosho, Associated? You might have old models/kits in your bodega, attic, basement, etc. I'm looking for old models in any condition. If you can dig them up, I'll buy them! Contact me, please, if you do.

    Thanks.

my hubby and I are into RC cars. we do compete in races but at the moment it's just my hubby whose competing. there are quite a lot of shops now that sells these stuffs. Lil's sells only Tamiya and Kyosho. there's ActionHobbies in Greenhills and d Fort which sells HPI, Hotbodies, Xrays. there's also Pitshop in Araneta Ave. which carry Yokomo, Associated, Losi and other stuffs.

i learned from the shop in PETRON (tapat ng Gate 5) that to drift your RC you'll need to replace the rubber tires with PVC (ung same material used in PVC pipes). Some adapatation siguro is done with the regular rims to accomodate the PVC plastic.

as far as i know, you don't have to alter the rims. you just have to choose the size of the pvc. dapat ka size siya ng rims for 1/10 scale cars.

'Have Tamiya CRV, Hummer and F-150 Lightning. Bought them sa Lil's Hobby (Megamall) shop in '99 when I was assigned there sa 'Pinas as a consultant to a telecom firm..

Bili ko lang noon - $200 for all three including 3 controllers. They're still in good working condition although I haven't played them for a while.

Hay grabe itong hobby na ito.... i plunked down around 100k for this a couple of years back....

    HPI Savage ~30k
    Futaba Controller ~14k
    Servos (3 incl reverse) ~14k
    .
    .
    .
    .
    .
    .

ang dami pa like 3 speed trannys, shock absorbers, reverse modules bodies fuels batteries chargers etc etc etc.

Fun while it lasted, hirap kasi walang malapit na offroad track sa amin. and when JP was still open, it gets kinda boring. Maganda sana bashing sessions ko sa fort, kaya lang they got strict na rin....

eventually sold my Savage and got my 20" mags. pero sobrang lugi ko sa depreciation hehe.
