the quarantine rules are super-strict in the US because foreign foods or animals typically bring in disease or pests that could be extremely destructive.

didn't they tell you this at immigration?

hahaha....this is so true....dami ko na kakilala na kinukuha yung mga dala nilang longanisa tocino dried fish etc....

dati namili ako ng mga vcd sa SM na barney and cartoons for my son..tapos tinanong ako ng US customs kung meron nga akong dalang mga video discs, sabi ko meron tapos sabi nya bawal daw yon. sabi ko bawal kung pirated pero original yung mga binili ko. tapos sabi nya nalang next time wag magdala nun..

Meron din pala ako share na disappointments with our kapwa Pinoys working in foreign airports. This was in SANFO Intl. Airport. After the long line in the IO's you will get your bags from the carousel diba?

When I entered the US through San Francisco, wala naman akong naging problema. Natawa lang ung officer sa akin kasi may dala akong mooncake kasi way past the Chinese New Year na nun (I think he's chinese).

My uncle just got back from the Philippines last month and madami silang dalang Philippine products (Boy Bawang, local junk food, hopia, Choc Nut, etc) and yung isang tito ko din na kasama niya, may dala pang pirated na DVD! Nilagay lang nila lahat sa check-in baggage nila. Wala namang problema pagdating nila dito. I guess dahil US citizen na sila?

but since the Continental flight from Manila arrives very early in the Morning ... you have to wait a few hours before they can " verify " and let you out of immigration.

by then, you have to wait for another long time to have your bags clear Customs because umuwi na yung Customs officer

may nagsabi sakin pag kukuhain yung pagkain sabihin mo ikaw magtatapon sa trash tapos sirain mo yung balot para walang makinabang. same thing with other items sirain bago nyo ibigay...

They asked me only because I came from Manila and carried a Pinoy Passport. Most of the Pinoy passport holder sa flight ko was asked the same questions.

when i was still working in saudi arabia, yung passport ko umabot na sa 3 kasi puro exit reentry stamps ang nakalagay, so para mapabilis at wala ng tanong tanong ang IO, nilalagyan ko ng market/paper clip kung nasaan yung latest visa...

at sobrang haba ng pila doon, minsan kunyari naliligaw ako sa pila ng mga diplomats, nakakalusot naman..he he he..
