    Car thieves strike anew

CAR thieves struck anew in Quezon City, dubbed as the "car theft" capital of Metro Manila, on Wednesday night fleeing with a sedan reportedly owned by a ranking government official.

Reports said that two men armed with short firearms stole the red Honda CRV owned by a Court of Appeals justice on Pascual Street, Barangay Baesa at 7:45 p.m. Wednesday.

Traffic Management Group director Chief Supt. Ricardo C. Quinto confirmed they received the information about the latest carnapping incident in Quezon City.

"We are still on the lookout for the vehicle and the suspects," he said.

The incident took place amid a stepped-up anti-carnapping campaign in the city launched by the TMG last month.

The Quezon City Police District under Chief Supt. Nicasio J. Radovan Jr. has been under pressure to stop the spate of car thefts in the city.

Quezon City remains a favorite hunting ground of armed car thieves in the metropolis.

am sure that CRV is already being cut up for parts somewhere in Laguna :P
and the parts will end up in the surplus dealers in Banawe.
