You may encounter maintenance/repair issues with a portable AC. Most of the AC guys here are used to window- and split- types, they may not be as adept with portables. You also don't know if there are spare parts available. Especially if you buy a China brand with no local service, you'll end up trashing the entire unit.

i solved the drain issue by attaching a hose from the drain to the nearest drainhole. In your case it seems awkward to snake a tube all the way to your bathroom.
