Hehe, I just joined my co-worker's weekly texas holdem poker club.

After months of just playing poker in my PocketPC I wasnt really prepared to go up against real humans and boy was the game soooooooooo complicated.

Rules are quite simple. Pusoy lang, pero the human factor is so so so complex.

You can't really master Poker, too much luck is at stake, you really don't have much control other than the betting and bluffing.

you're absolutely right! that's why amateurs won the world series of poker 3 years in a row over the professionals.

there are some skills involved, but much of it is luck.

tip ko lang e galingan mo lang magbluff and kahit pangit ang cards mo e wag kang magbabago ng facial expression.. para madali e ngiti ka na lang palagi kahit natatalo ka

tsaka don't give them any giveaways (or tells). for example, pag maganda yung cards mo, huwag kang magmamadaling magtaya (or raise), kasi obvious tell yan, consistent lang talaga ang behaviour mo.

masarap pag nababasa mo na yung kalaban mo. when you're able to read his cards dahil sa mga slight nuances sa mannerisms nya.

I disagree with poker is more luck. Sa akin it's more skill. Look who are the top winners in the world series of poker. Tignan mo sino nasa final table every year/tournament. Almost the same.

You can't say doyle brunson/phil ivey is good becuase he is lucky. He's good because he has skill. Meaning he knows when to bet;how much to bet; when to fold and when to play.
