July 13th, 2016 08:59 AM #2071as an aside..
focal plane shutters allow flash for speeds of up to 1/60 second for traditional horizontal cloth film shutters, to up to 1//250 for higher end slr (vertical titanium blade shutters, i.e., nikon fm2). but for leaf shutters, "sky's the limit".
experimenting with flash photography can be fun.Last edited by dr. d; July 13th, 2016 at 09:22 AM.

I use Av most of the time when traveling - it takes too much time to set both aperture and shutter speed when capturing fleeting moments. I just set my aperture and ISO, and shoot away.
If I'm shooting under the same lighting circumstances all throughout, I sometimes use manual mode to keep the exposure consistent.
I only use Tv when deliberately trying to take motion blur shots (i.e. moving cars or waterfalls).

With the stuff happening in Turkey, I hark back to the good ol days before Erdogan.
Taken with my Nikon Coolpix 995 when it was brand spanking new.
