Either. As above pic by Allen, the exposure time is so long, could be 30 secs or 1 minute to create the star trails. If any guest or a person been lying around walking or say moving around in the frame, with that long exposure the person will appear ghostly or invisible. A perfect timing shot, everything is idle and on standstill except for the stars, no wind, otherwise the blurry leaves of trees and bushes.

i dont think 30 to 60 seconds can create star trails that long. stars turn 2.5 degrees every 10 minutes in the night sky.

you said it bro. but in PS you can make it even longer, for just a second exposure.

true but doing so is missing all the fun involved in capturing star trails. It's like going back to the film days....you never know what you're going to get until the film gets developed. Sabagay...matter of personal preferences din. Just the same, its all good.

allen, which do you prefer, the reflector or the shoot thru? I have both but I seldom use the reflector because I cannot place it very near the subject for portraits because of its shaft.

Depends sir on what i'm shooting din. But, i prefer using the shoot through....gives a nice, warm and soft cast. Just have to vary the distance and height of the light.

i feel like im about to slide to the right when i'm looking at the photo. i think this would look better if you level the horizon, not the lead windmills at the foreground. and maybe reduce the heavy vignetting from the top?
