NASA will now accept tourists up to space labs only starting between 2008-10 for qualified individuals but has to undergo undersea training first somewhere in key west, florida.take note...it's just $5,000 only...it's serious.

Need a link. So far as I know, NASA hopes to encourage Space Tourism, but they're still struggling to bring the cost down.

Simply put, if you send one person into space for just $5,000, they're wasting over a million dollar's worth of taxpayer's money for one person's enjoyment.

    Rocket fuel ain't cheap.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

impossible is nothing. imagine the world our grandparents lived in vs ours. progress is exponential. what is important is the will of the powers that be. but then again most progress comes from military application. just look at the very tool we are using at the moment. remember the old comps of the 80s? Commodore ba yun?

    Hmmm... interesting read:

    http://www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/ex...spaceship.html

Seems like they are really looking into this option since a LOT of people are against using a nuclear-powered spacecraft.

I wonder why NASA is having such a difficult time figuring out faster-than-light travel?

If Captain Picard were on the bridge, all he has to do is say "Engage!", and off they go

i have trouble believing that you can get into space for 5k. a first class ticket to Europe costs more than that

Partly blame it on Einstein, but I'd blame it mostly on the human brain. If we ever achieve faster-than-light travel, then we must have already learned how to travel at the speed of thought.

and then you'll need the space shuttle to go up and rescue you before the concorde burns up during re-entry.

that antimatter thing is a very interesting read.

i wonder, however, what happens when an antimatter engine fails? could the resulting explosion vaporize an entire planet? :shocked2:

if the tech is developed, how long will it be before someone develops an antimatter bomb? :nerves:

dapat dyan matter replicator ala star trek, para di mauubusan ng fuel then duplicate the matter replicator itself para kahit masira walang katapusan ang duplicate

light is relative to the space-time continuum that's why light speed is limited to 300,000km/s. but if you can bend space without distorting time, you now have space warping. but the only way you can bend space is by manipulating it through gravity.
gravity pulls space and sometimes stretches space and at the same time stretches time. why is it that blackholes distort time and space? blackholes are the ultimate form of matter and is also unstable. matter is converted to energy literally. remember E=m(c^2)? energy produced is equal to amount of matter times quadratic acceleration of light. energy is the form of a massive gravity field concentrated to one point of distorted space and some of the energy is dissipated in the form of X-ray(that's why its signature can be detected). now, how do we replicate a blackhole without using stars(dead ones)? destroy matter! what we learn from schools tell us that matter can neither be created nor destroyed but enk...matter was created from energy and can also be destroyed and converted to energy. how? antimatter comprise most of the known and unknown universe. once antimatter contacts matter, matter is destroyed and converted to energy totally. say, a pinch of uranium comes in contact with antimatter in a controlled set-up, and viola... instant blackhole!!!
Damn, son! Where'd you find this?

LOL ... i'm sure you can also see how space is warped around the black hole!
