Question lang, can you get a 5.1 signal from optical (from DVD to 5.1 Receiver) connection only? Instead of multiple RCA plugs (left, center, right rear and sub). I want to limit the wires if possible. TNX.

yes, that's the best way to connect multi-channel audio from your DVD to your receiver.

yup! kaso be careful with the opticals since medyo sensitive sya. can't get dirt in or even get folded or twisted. maselan sya...
hmm... pag DVD player to AVR di ba red, white and yellow rca wires lang? i think its video(white), analog sound(yellow or is it the other way around?) and the red i dont know what for hehehe.

January 5th, 2005 04:10 PM #5yup. Only through optical can you get DTS din.
from DVD to TV try using the good cables din. Component cables yata yon. 3 colors for video (green, brown, and yellow yata). That is kung may component connection ang TV mo. Otherwise... old composite cables will do. Kung may S Video connection din ang tv mo yun ang mas magadna kaysa composite.
cheers

January 5th, 2005 04:18 PM #6for digital connection there's only 2
Optical and Coaxial (one RCA plug only) other than that is Analog
yung Yellow (video) White (stereo) Red (mono) is analog connection
on optical and coaxial
highly debated na ito sa pinoydvd.com for me mas bright ang optical and melllow ang coaxial
btw im using Digital Coax for my digital connection
pinagawa ko sa 5th avenue shang using monster cable and gold RCA

January 6th, 2005 10:54 AM #10pansin ko din, parang umiinot yung optical cable (during extended continouos use) hence naaapektuhan yung sound output from the receiver.....nde ko naeexperience to pag sa coax.
3M Color Stable series are all above 50% TSER. RFID readable through the tint, stays good for...
