MANILA, Philippines - A shooting occurred at the Mall of Asia in Pasay City Sunday evening, March 30, creating panic among customers and wounding one, according to eyewitnesses and a mall official.

The mall official told Rappler that the shooting apparently occurred at the SM department store inside the mall. Guards were forced to close all shops at the mall, keeping customers inside.

Rappler's Jum Balea, who is in the mall, said the guards told them "there was a shooting."

The wounded was immediately brought to a nearby hospital, the same official added.

As of 8 pm, one suspect – apparently a member of a robbery gang – was arrested at the Tokyo Tokyo restaurant, the official said. The official spoke on condition of anonymity since he was not authorized to speak. - Rappler.com

^ yup... saw that. was on my way to the imax parking area when throngs of people were coming out of the main building and a shopper and his family told us that there was a shooting. i parked at sm by the bay.

then i saw from my office window that hypermart's steel roll ups are being closed and people are rushing out of the premises.
