actually, maganda nga arrangement ng puwesto diyan. empleyadoes during weekdays, families during weekends.

we have a democratic system in play.
our kasamas sa weekends are from QC, so i get out-voted much of the time.
    ganun lang.

but you haven't answered the initiating question.
why do you say glorietta is dead, when in fact you have no idea how it is doing nowadays?

There is a youtuber who went to glorieta on a sunday prepandemic late 2019 or early 2020. Arrived at 09:30am and grabe luwag. Ghostown glorieta

Sa mga binanggit ko mall eh ganyan oras nasa dulo ka ng parking abutin isang oras bago makakuha ng card.

Simula nagka fashion hall si megamall eh yan game changer. Kahit ngayon pandemic puntahan pa din.

the malls i know, formally open at 10 am, even before covid.
it is expected, and borne by personal experience, that if one goes there at 9:30 in the morning, there will be significantly less 'traffic' to encounter.

Fortunately for us, we have lost interest in mall long before covid, we just go there occasionally to buy clothes and groceries, eating? We go our separate ways, my daughter and I have different tastes while the wife would prefer to shop rather than eat. Movies? No, we prefer waiting for it to arrive for home viewing, a lot more convenient as you can pause it for snacks and the loo. Didn't get that scene? You can rewind it [emoji16]

Dati kasi grocery at pasyal lang punta namin, kahit walang pambili, masaya na kami sa ambience ng mall, kahit na sa cheap kainan lang kumain.

to those with large-ish houses and wide front-and back-yards, yes.

but to many folks living in the so-called matchbox neighborhoods,
malling is their way of relaxing and getting some air.

what some might consider as a problem,
is actually a solution, in other folks' eyes.

Inside not so many people compared to outside and they have streetfoods lined-up so they can eat outside which is much safer.

    yup

people would spend an entire afternoon at the mall

    -

para sa madaming pinoy a mall is like a town square, a town plaza, a public square (whatever the correct term is)

coz of poor urban planning, NCR lacks of public spaces like these

wala mapuntahan mga tao except mall

    uy piazza navona, munchenplatz.

it would be definitely nice to have places like this pero also consider na tropical country tayo so maybe even if we have these places mag sa sardinas pa din sa mall dahil malamig.

ang ganda naman kasi tingnan pag wide open space no highrises.

Kaya naging panandaliang-aliw ayala center makati kasi kulob.

ayan ang lesson pag madami mataas na gusali natatakpan ulap nagiging pangit.

    does it spark joy ?

Tapos magrereklamo bakit sa parking abutin 45minutes bago makalabas hahaha

Sa current situation ng makati dapat puro walkways bikekane. Wala na iba remedyo jan unless gibain mo buildings or 80% magshift workfromhome. Yan definitely bagsak real estate jan.

Mga namamahala hindi marunong magbilang ng LIMIT!!!!

    Saan ba kasi grumadweyt????

let us blame LGU city planning.

    alas,
parks and wide open spaces do not pay significant-enough tax revenue.

    sa neighborhood na lang namin,
may tinatayong hi-rise buildings sa residential area, when it is very obvious that the current streets there can not adequately support increased traffic.

Highrise buildings are fine, 200 families in 2000 sqm of land is better than 20 families in single detached houses. Saves land for open areas in theory

But there should be more open spaces in metro manila that arent golf courses
