Most of the jeans I wear are Hollister. I like the feel of the fabric.

shows the company is experiencing problems

Hollister is one of the stores I visit whenever I'm in HK... sale na buy 3 items get 30% off. Too bad Abercrombie closed their only store in Central... sobrang mahal kasi, even for Hong Kong.

From the article posted by shadow

H&M outlined the buildup in its latest quarterly report on Tuesday, prompting questions of whether the company is able to adapt to the fierce competition and changing consumer demands in reshaping the global apparel market.
fierce competition? Inditex (owner of Zara)

changing consumer demand? when people see new clothes on instagram endorsed by influencers they want the clothes asap

companies that put new styles in stores quickly will win

Signs of the brand’s expanding unsold inventory began emerging last year, when it reported an unexpected quarterly drop in sales. The decline was the first in two decades,
    because they're too slow

    their supply chain

by the time new clothes reach their stores, out of style na

main global competitor Inditex is faster

“The rapid transformation of the fashion retail sector continues,” he declared.
    acknowledging they're getting left behind

“As communicated previously, the start of the year has been tough. 2018 is a transitional year for the H&M group, as we accelerate our transformation so that we can take advantage of the opportunities generated by rapid digitalization.”
    rapid digitalization

see on instagram, buy on ASOS

These "infuencers" on Instagram are getting paid big bucks by companies.

I'm into make up and even big established brands such as MAC are tapping on these influencers (eg Patrick Starrr who is Filipino American). Personally, I find it a turn off once a brand taps social media influencers. So many indie brands became big and are now competitors of large global brands just because of social media.

    yes

small brands instantly become famous when posted by influencers

kaya major brands also have to go to influencers to remain relevant

and if we go back to topic...

established apparel brands are major tenants of malls (globally)

big apparel companies are shutting down one after another

    that's a problem for malls

And that was a long time ago.

tumigil na ako magnegosyo shadow. wala naman mapapala sa negosyo. it's not natural you know a business, by itself is a contradiction dito sa Philippines.

so for me, if they dont shape up. ano hilo, uupo lang sa conference room araw-araw kape dito starbucks dun, japanese dinner, may business ka na. hayan tuloy hinde moving inventory

Kaya ngayon parang inaanay sila. Pag online pa, minsan pwede pang free delivery sa address mo walang charge at all. Or pwede ring nagtransact at nakabili online pero never dumating sayo yung item.
