I don't know about Supreme Court judges but senator Joker Arroyo lives at Dasmarinas Village. He's one of the petitioners who praised the SC decision to stop the energization of the said 230kV line.

    Yehey!

One conclusion here in the Phils: Dumbs get rich and can rise to power.

There are two fields presented by power lines - electric field produced by the voltage and magnetic field by the current in the lines.

The earth has a natural polarized areas and has inherent magnetic fields. We have the magnetic north and south poles which are a few degrees off the north and south poles. That's why we use magnetic compasses for directions.

So we are exposed to EMFs since we are conceived here on earth. How about the radio waves, microwaves, sound waves, waves produced by the sun, etc. etc. Computers monitors, TVs, cellphones, microwave ovens generates greater EMF radiations.

We had been working and researching on EMFs and yet to find any conclusive indication that power lines poses risk hazards. If they have some reliable information and findings, tell the whole world about it so that everyone could know or else, the world will see us as a country run by morons paranoid about irrelevant things.

i think reasonable naman yun kanila eh. hindi nila sinasabing masama yun mga NAKASAKAY sa mrt, ang sinasabi nila ay SASAKAY yun MASAMA sa MRT... i think no-fly zone nga sa mga ibang bahay hindi lang dito sa pinas, kahit chopper, for security purposes... imagine kung isang forbes park vip ang namatay, at ceo siya ng isang company... babagsak ang company at marami mawawalan ng trabaho... in the end, mahirap din kawawa...

Costing the taxpayer millions of pesos for such special request? How can the criminal elements monitor something in a moving train? Why not just add a perimeter fence along the rail and place some ads? Can a terrorist carry a RPG inside the MRT?

the MRT moves at approximately 60-65kph. so unless the train would stop for a long period of time sa harap ng isang posh village, mahirap mag-recon at that speed. ngayon, mas mahirap ng sumulip kasi tad-tad na ng ads yung side ng MRT trains, covering most of the windows.

if my memory serves me right, there was one resident in one of them villages that even said something like this: "kapag nakita nila ang bahay ko, baka pag-isipan pa nila kami ng masama. tsaka, kawawa naman sila at maiingit lang". tsk, tsk.

i don't mean to start a class war here. it's just that for me, hindi justifiable na i-sacrifice yung ikabubuti ng karamihan sa 'tin para sa kapritso lang ng iilan.

    So true.

I'm sure the people complaining about it wouldn't mind if a small (poor) community is leveled to accomodate a new infrastructure project (new road, road-widening, railway, etc...).

i think it's no longer an issue who was first to erect a building or pole in the location. what matters is whether the NPC's transmission towers had right-of-way. I believe they have kasi hindi maitatayo yun kung hindi approved ang right-of-way. Unless there's under the table agreement of course.

    Sori medyo OT, heheh
