Decades ago (80's), we had a housemaid who said that we had duwende living under a very old bougainvillea tree. She'd get sick and claim that she offended the dwarves. She'd then take a day off to visit some albularyo in wayyy off in baclaran (we're from QC...)
We had to let go of her due to financial difficulties.

Fast forward to 2008. We hired this yaya from an agency. When she got to our house, she immediately tells me that there are duwende under the bougainvillea tree! Langya! A day later, she said she got struck by one of them dwarves for standing too close to the tree. And get this...she also goes to some albularyo in where else --- baclaran!

She got hexed a couple of times the following months. And she started mumbling weird things... just like that Kreacher elf from Harry Potter... Fearing na baka mahawa yung baby namin sa kaweirdohan niya, we fired her.

When the new yaya arrived, we immediately let her walk to the bougainvillea tree and asked her if she saw anything. She looked at us strangely and said...bakit po? Ano po meron dito? GOOD! Hahahaha... normal.

The strange thing is --- how did both the maid and the yaya, who didn't know each other, come to the conclusion about dwarves under the bougainvillea tree? May criteria ba for determining those? ISO93232: Identifying Enkantos In Your Garden?
