there are many reasons why one's sense of smell appears to be "muted".
illness, for one. colds... flu... allergies.. conditions that can affect the nose's lining.. illnesses that involve the head and neck.
there's also loss of sense of smell due to ageing.
in recent times, covid has been associated with anosmia. experts think it is because the virus affects the cells supporting the nerves that are responsible for smell.

btw,
that sense of taste?
experts 70% of our "sense of taste" is actually smell.
that can explain why food tastes bland when we have the sniffles.

Same, una nawala pang-amoy ko Ms. Cathy.. 1-2 days ata bago nawala yung panlasa ko.. Wala ako sipon at ubo nung 1st week, lagnat lang na sa gabi lumalala.. Yung ubo, later stage na nung pagaling na ako..
Claim mo na Ms. Cathy, gagaling ka.. Samahan mo ng positive vibes, prayer, 8 hours sleep at 3L tubig...

Nade depress ako kasi sabi nga friends ko isa ako sa pinaka paranoid and yet this happened to me pa. The few times that I go out I see a lot of people not wearing masks properly or removing their masks to drink or eat. I NEVER did that. Imagine, sa bahay nga naka mask din kami sa common areas Then there are those people living like there is no pandemic. Hindi nagkakasakit

Follow the advice and get a test.
Eat and drink including vitamins to keep up your strength.
try to get a good nights sleep everyday, take melatonin if you must to get to sleep.
Monitor your Blood O2 constantly.
try to keep your mind off the covid sickness baka hindi naman yan ang sakit mo,
The paranoia is adding symptoms to your disease.

I really hope it won't progress at negative ang results ko. I don't know what they will do with me if it's positive. I was told sinusundo daw ng ambulance, ayoko ma discriminate family ko and of course I don't want to leave them puro senior

yung pang amoy talaga totally nawala.. ang worry namin ay yung mahirapan sya huminga..

dati kasi nawawalan ako ng pang amoy pag may sipon.. sya wala naman sipon, pero walang pang amoy.. may ubo lang na dry

Cathy, my sense of smell is also muted ngayon. but taste is fine. no lagnat, no cough, just clogged nasal passage. hehe

Totoo nga ata na ignorance is bliss. Ayoko na nga mag google kung may nararamdaman ako e lalo ako magkakasakit. I still wish Dr Cutie and Dr APS were here, wala na kami matakbuhan tuloy. Pero kay Dr Cutie I can personally message him and he would call me pa nga pag super worried ako I miss him so much. Sobra na naman iyak ko kanina, ang hirap ng walang maasahan. I only have myself to rely on and I am responsible for seniors pa. Hindi ako pwede magkasakit, kawawa sila.

BTW, can fat lab sleep in my room, hindi ako makatulog wala si fat lab. The other day I did not let her in, nanghihina daw and she peed sa kitchen (probably na stress din) She is house trained so that was very unusual

Oh hindi naman sila lumalapit kay fat lab and I reminded them again. I was supposed to let her stay sa dirty kitchen kaya lang nagdabog e tinumba lahat ng chairs [emoji23] [emoji23] [emoji23]

Sa una meron pa kaunti pang-amoy kapag idikit ko sa ilong mismo yung gusto ko amuyin.. Pero once na ma-establish na sa unang amoy ko yung smell, kapag ulitin ko mawawala na..
Nung nawala na panlasa ko, wala na din akong pang-amoy kahit idikit ko pa sa ilong ko bagong spray na perfume or any minty smell.. Like toothpaste wala ako malasahan at maamoy..
Pero pasaway naman ako nun Ms. Cathy.. Hininto ko vitamins ko at kumakain ako sa labas.. Pagod din ako nun dahil madami ako lakad.. Valentine's week pa ang dami din tao sa mga pinupuntahan ko.. [emoji28]
