How's your BP? Since you already got symptoms, why not the simpler Roche test w/ results in a coupla hours? Might help calm you down faster. It's next best to RT-PCR w/ practically no waiting, cheap, too. If unconvinced, then swab(I've seen both false +s & -s 1st hand). No need for anxiety. Tests are just to know the attention needed & whether to isolate or not. Get well soon, ma'am.

October 29th, 2020 12:38 AM #6644some experts frown on using covid antibody tests to determine for covid antigen (infection).
to use the test to determine antibody level is fine.
but to extrapolate the results for antigen's presence...
the pgh folks have determined an un-acceptable, measely 20% pick-up rate.

There's a lab local to us here that has the Roche Elecsys. They do home/workplace service * P750ea. Results in a coupla hours. Results1.0 are considered positive. Results in between are considered suspicious. Off the record & from their empirical data observed, they explained that those tested0.4 had a high probability to be retested positive after a few days. Those who test high, say 20 upwards, were likely to have had it awhile, on recovery or recovered.
RT PCR is the gold standard, but not foolproof. Had a relative & friend w/ symptoms who sought testing. Results came negative...but both ended up fighting for their lives in the ICU for weeks....confirmed positive in retests. Another swabbed positive w/ no symptoms, had the Roche as 2nd opinion right after swab results...negative. Then had a 2nd swab test after the Roche negative(3 tests in a coupla days just to have peace of mind)....reconfirmed NEGATIVE....A 4th test, the 3rd swab days after...NEGATIVE. Imagine the roller coaster...& whew...relief.
Yes, RT PCR is probably the most reliable... the sample handling may not always be.

Thanks travs. My BP is normal naman (120/80) Akala ko wala ng false positive pag 7 days from exposure? Although tomorrow is the 6th day pa lang.
flu? Yung pneumonia pala a doctor told me that if they got the pneumonia shot after 65 e lifetime na daw?
