Background. Its past 5 am and he was probably trying to catch the transport service kaya nagmamadali siya. That's probably why sa entrance siya nagexit. Doesn't excuse any of it imo.

it could have been, "urgh! delay!"
it's not you and your genetic heritage.. it's the delay.

Ang common kasi samin, kahit nagsara na at makita ka, pagbubuksan ka pa ulit para isabay ka. Okay lang naman na di nila ako pinasakay, I can get another one. Pero yung ipakita mong nairita ka dahil she's causing the delay. That's why I labeled it micro inequity. It's not direct, it's subtle, it doesn't have to mean that way or intentional but the way you make people feel because of your action, yun. And our company is particular to these things.

I feel like crying. Na delay flight ng Auntie ko and I'm here at the airport. Hungry and tired, I don't know where to go.

I work with Latin Americans who felt excluded when we talk in Tagalog, so we are aware and we call each other out. I heard these french speakers have their share of complaints too (was told they are sensitive), so it is funny that they want us to be conscious of how we deal with them and I see them behave like that.

Planning to write to their line managers because I don't want them to keep doing it and get away (I heard the same guy was rude to a company driver once). I don't want it normalized. Not in this company.

You don't want me on the same elevator with you, in my country? Of all people who will do that, the colored ones. Fudge that.

i guess you can attribute that to the lasting imprint of apartheid.

and i agree - best if you call out their behavior through management, colored or otherwise.

Which is not an excuse. That's why they need to be told. Napakabigdeal ng respect for people (core value) samin people get fired for it. Unlike tardiness, when you have a record it never gets cleared. They will take us off production to attend these talks and seminars about Diversity and Inclusion, Micro Inequity. The last they want is a staff not unmotivated to work because of how he is treated at the office.

Btw, these guys are known to be sensitive. One of them nakipag away sa cashier sa cafeteria dahil feeling niya pinagtatawanan siya. Tapos ganun culture nila?

Iba lang siguro culture samin. I'm not saying we are nice. we're encouraged to speak up if something bothers us. So much so they once put boxes where we can drop our feedbacks anonymously, just so we will speak up. But do so with respect.

Reminds me of that of-used elevator joke you've all probably heard by now.

    "Bababa ba?

    Bababa"

What did the American say when he heard this exchange?
