On those long 12-hour trips, putting the car on cruise control is probably the best blend of getting the most fuel economy with the least effort on my part.
Just set the cruise control to 75 mph on the Interstate and 70 mph on state highways. The only time I disengage cruise control is when approaching a slower vehicle up front or when traffic increases. I also turn it off when approaching city limits.
Hmmmm. I used to drive from Reno to Oklahoma City which is an almost 24-hour, 1640 mile/2639 km drive nonstop. There was no way I'd attempt it without cruise control.
Add: I also remember doing the same drive in 19 hours. He He But, I was younger then.Last edited by Jun aka Pekto; June 14th, 2007 at 01:56 AM.

Right now, I try to drive nice n smooth, since one of my brake pads is worn down to the metal hehe, time to rebond my brakes.
Usually I drive fast enough so that I pass most cars, but, not dangerously.
Daming issue ng SU7:grin:
