Design professionals won't tell you nor admit this...the fitout sector has long been relieving them a lot of their creative & presentational chores. Most would even be more technically knowledgeble. Cabinet design is generally a built-in service as they'd have to do detailed shop drawings prior to execution anyway.
To skirt added design costs, determine your wants/needs & explore pro fitout/cabinet providers. Check & compare their quality, service, reviews & affordability. Loop your architect in to make sure all his design aspects & language are all tied in.

December 6th, 2023 03:25 PM #742Agree that they wont tell you the cost, its only when you go thru with them that you will see all this cost. Good to see very detailed drawings from your concept, translate to 3D view, and actual site measurements (at least a few times to confirm based on owners concept).
Choices of materials adds to the cost. But sometimes its a wants and needs.
But all those major areas of the haus like kitchen (a good place to entertain too), bathroom fixtures and cabinets in the dining area, worth to get a professional or a good contractor.
About to finish and its on some final detailed works [emoji4]

Which is more expensive, glass partition or concrete? How much per square meter / foot is glass compared to insulated concrete wall / AAC blocks?

Cost will always be relative to specific types/brands of partitions.
Look into 3D panels such as EVG. Lighter, stronger, easier to install w/ way better insulation. You'll never wish for blocks ever again.
In choosing glass frame options, skip the common local generic extrusions the skip the rails w/ poor moisture & sound seals.
From 1st hand experience, if budget affords, Ķömmerling & Deceuninck sections have long been tested & trusted. The former has very good presence & support. Oz standard sections are pretty good, too.

I prefer 3D panels over lightweight aerated blocks where both are applicable.

March 18th, 2024 02:47 PM #750... a corrugated roof with no kisame.
make it a double, with a few inches breathing space between the two layers, for heat insulation.
and if the outer layer leaks, the lower layer may be able to compensate.
very little maintenance needed.Last edited by dr. d; March 18th, 2024 at 02:57 PM.
