Do you mean a fence as high as a firewall? For me palitada is enough. Painting it with a quality brand would be better for aesthetis.

But the question is kung yard naman pala sa side mo why waterproof pa? Dahil uulanin din naman ang side mo.

Kailangan ba may waterproof ang firewall kahit yard naman ang loob ng firewall?
ask the authorities or the homeowners' association, if there are laws regarding "sagaran nang bahay sa property line".

should you decide for the 600 mm setback, you can erect a fence, to mark your property line.

if the other side of the firewall is not weather-sensitive naman, there would be no need to water proof it.

    happy building.

Don't do that....This is what we have done for those who've had it w/ firewall troubles. Note the wall is windowless to pass easement restrictions; the roof is gutterless & the rain just hits the trench. Will never leak, no maintenance...& you'll have access to trench-cleaning. Build & forget.[emoji16]20230728_122900.jpg

I personally never wish to do periodic maintenance call-backs. I will never do gutters w/in firewalls, nor firewalls w/o longspan cladding.
Waterproofing mentioned will need a lot of luck, would almost always fail & require periodic reapplication. I'd rather humbly decline such work.

    reminds me of our firewall.
nothing paint-able or spray-able worked for long.
we finally tacked in flat GI sheets. wala pang longspan cladding, back then.
after over 40 years, it still hasn't re-leaked.

    this is so true!

we tried all sorts of waterproofing on our veranda (deck), but they all failed over time. after we installed a roof, there were no more traces of water streaks at the bottom (this deck also served as roof for our dirty kitchen).

Gotta respect nature. Fighting it is bad gambling. The house always wins.[emoji38]
