a petition must be filed in court. there is also a publication requirement. i think yung publication requirement ang humihila ng gastos pataas, especially if the publication of the petition is raffled to the major spreadheets.

March 21st, 2006 02:40 AM #23The guy who asked for 100T is dumb.

My experience was my middle name eh mispelled din and 16 yrs ago kailangan kong kumuha ng passport.

you got lucky. the usual procedure is for the correction to be done on the civil registry first before the DFA can give you the passport with the corrected name
so long as the error is clerical or typgraphical, the procedure is simple. puede na ang local or municipal civil registrar or consul general dyan without the need for a judicial order. the only thing that will complicate it will be the degree of greediness of these government minions

Ganyan din ang naging problem ko. In my case, mali ang spelling ng aking first name. Ang old policy is to undergo, hearing and publication. After that, maglalabas ng resolution ang court and then isa=submit mo ito sa NSO for filing. And then ilalabas nila ang Authenticated Birth Certificate na original (yung may maling spelling or Gender) tapos sa baba nito may anotation. Nakalagay doon ang Court Order correcting the error. It took me more than 3 months and around 6K to complete the process.
Fortunately, hindi na ngayon ganyan ang process. For minor corrections on spelling and ***, wala nang hearing hearing and publication. I strongly suggest na iwasan mo yang humihingi ng 100K. 100% raket yan!
Go to the Legal Department of NSO (4th Floor ata).

i think that's too much...hindi city hall ang mg aayos nyan lalo n at gender ang problem m, need to go to the lawyer, mga 30k lng ga2stusin m po jan...kc judicial yan....
