AT LEAST 10 men, including three in police uniform, hit the showroom of a car dealership branch in Quezon City and drove off with two brand new vehicles worth a total of 10 million pesos.
Police said that the robbers also took the safety vault of the Ford Philippines branch on Edsa Balintawak corner Seminary Road, Barangay Bahay Toro, Quezon City.
Police said that at around 2 a.m. Wednesday, three men in police uniform arrived at the branch on board a Toyota Revo (WTJ 562) and ordered security guards Vicente Loreco, 31, Nilo Musong, 34, and Roleto Maputol, 34, to let them in.
The robbers told the guards that they had received information that a crime was going to take place in the vicinity, according to the investigators.
As soon as the guards opened the gate, at least seven other robbers in hiding swept past the guards and immediately disarmed them.
The suspects then got behind the wheel of a fully-loaded Expedition and a silver Everest.
Some of the other robbers took the car accessories on display at the showroom, as well as the safety vault in the office. A Ford employee told police that the vault contained important documents and an undetermined amount of money.
Central Police District investigators are looking into the possibility that the robbery was an inside job.
