masisisi nyo ba talaga yung tao, I mean, she was born an american. Di naman ethnicity ang tinatanong.
no offense but all this "Filipino" association of Fil-Am is kinda O.A.
Pag negative ang balita tinataboy (like PBA Fil-Ams)
Pero pag artista panay salo ng media as "Pinoy/pinay"
that's what bugs me too. bakit ang mga pinoy, basta fil-am or may pinoy ethnicity, we're all over ourselves frothing at the mouth. as if being a half-breed automagically makes them better at everything.

look at the fil-am basketbolistas. and the fil-ams who are nobodies in the US pero pag dating dito sikat! (maraming ganyan na starlet o kaya boylet)

pilipinas lang yata ang proud na i-angkin si Rob Schneider eh hahahahahahaha!

basta kahit anong drop of pinoy blood sa isang tao, aangkinin ng pinoy masa media. is our national self-esteem so low?

Hehehe. Puro palpak na lang ang Pinoy noh. Buti pa yung ibang lahi magaling. Pinoy lang ang hindi. Kawawa naman ang Pinoy. ;)

i think you missed the point entirely. the fact is she was asked (rightly or wrongly) of her filipino ancestry, she denied it (even claiming to be hispanic at one time), then now she says she's proud to represent filipinos just because she has an album and a movie to sell. yun po ang problema. yes she is an american, walang kaso dun. wala din kaso kung tama o mali na tanungin siya nung reporter abour her ethnicity. ang kaso e pagkatapos nya sabihin na hindi siya pilipino e ngayon sasabihin nya na pinoy siya para lang kumita ng pera. get it?

i think ganun talaga mga pinoy. sobrang kulang sa pansin :D

or, napaka-baba ng self-esteem kaya pag may na-amoy ang media na pinoy who had some semblance of success.. ayun na!

remember that mother-and-daughter na pumunta kuno sa australia etc etc? na yun pala imbento ang buong kwento? but for a few days the media was full of **** again, mga "ang galing galing talaga ng pinoy! ang palpak ng gobyerno!"

that mother-and-daughter really knew how to prey on the insecurities of the pinoy psyche kaya naging hero pa sila for awhile.

so why does she not market herself as an american now? i'm sorry if i seem trivial but what really irks me is the fact that she already said before she is an american/hawaiian/hispanic, and it insults my nationalistic pride that she will now say she is filipino.
