    THE UNITED STATES

The ONLY solution I can see for this country is in the micro level.... the individuals. Filipinos in general are too apathetic and too self serving to know the value of their own country. Have a country whose inhabitants love the place they are living in, the country will prosper, maybe it'll take time, but at least many are looking at the same direction... Dito hindi eh, kung may additional direction other than 360 degrees dun pupunta ang tao eh...

Just look at the action of every-day pinoys that drags the country down...

Throwing trash anywhere, pissing anywhere, lack of respect for other's property and rights, mudslinging, grapevine rumors that has no basis...

Honestly, do you think filipinos, at least majority of it, will change starting from themselves anytime soon?

Until they do, don't bother with complex solutions like politics, economics, etc etc etc.
isa pa to... i very much agree... nauuna ang sarili bago ang bayan... pag ang pinoy nasa pilipinas.. okay lang mag tapon kung saan saan.. pero kung nasa singapore na sya.. sya pa ang pupulot ng basura ng kasama nya para itapon sa basurahan..

    double standard... tsktsktsk..

wrong. it's not how big the debt is....the real issue is the capacity to pay. the US has the biggest debt but it has the capacity to pay...so debt cannot be used as an issue in terms of economics.

The US never pays enough to cover their debt... my point is, so what if the country did pay off all the debt (kung san man nakuha yung pera)..

give it 5 years and it'll be back in the hole with the way people treat their own country.

phil has one the worse lending customers according to multinational banks like citibank, pinas ang pinakamataas na bad loans through credit card..

what ever is happening in a micro scale, it just exponentially duplicates it in the macro level.

we only have ourselves to blame this quagmire that we are in.

but the question is: WHAT DO WE DO KNOW?

do we still go back to our worst traits and let this situation bog us down? do we let pessimism and fear take over us?

or do we rise up to the challenge of bring up the economy of the Philippines again in our own small ways? individually this wouldn't matter but collectively it would. this small things adds up. do we try to do our best in what we do - whether at school or at work?

..and the rest of the countries that can actually pay their debts. i think what these countries wanted is to stretch the payment terms to several centuries if that's possible. i think this is also being practiced by big and stable companies. they like to use the money of other companies/banks to earn more money. they don't want to use their own money.

maghirap pero walang utang? doesn't CUBA fall under this category? that can be applied to personal finances but that isn't applicable to businesses or countries. even the largest corporations have debts of some sort.

civil war? over what? are you serious with this? we'll be the next SOMALIA if this happens.

btw, you can't expect anyone to agree with one opinion or another. that is why we have a democracy. if you want everyone agreeing on what their government tells them, then migrate to NORTH KOREA (where their leader claims that he just played a perfect round of golf... with a score of 18... scoring a hole-in-one in every hole... then quit the game because it was too easy).
