January 7th, 2011 03:11 AM #113Ako super extreme. I can eat FISHBALLS during the day and have WAGYU for dinner.
There are delights in every price level. That is the best lesson I have learned in life, specially when travelling.

coņo means GAGO
To the older folks it just means "impolite fool", it has nothing to do with being rich.
Being called "Adelantado" is even more derogatory than being called "coņo".
rich people are those who can raise an Army.
Cowboy talaga ako, spent summers as a kid guarding cattle.Last edited by mark_t; January 7th, 2011 at 06:31 AM.

Philippine usage
In the Philippines, coņo (Tagalog: konyo) refers to a wealthy Anglophone person raised and/or living in a gated community, though the term originally referred to insular Spaniards, regardless of socioeconomic status. However, it is also likely that the term was used by people of high society to denote mestizos or half-breeds, particularly when in the olden times the natives, formerly called indios, were taunted as being children of women who marry Peninsulares or Insulares in order to elevate their social status. The word Coņo therefore became slang for harlotry. The variety of English that these konyos informally speak among themselves is termed Konyo English, or simply Konyo. Further, the term coņo in the southern part of the country, Zamboanga City, is a vulgar term for cunt, or the entirety of the female genitalia.Last edited by uls; January 7th, 2011 at 09:57 AM.

cowboy din po.
IMHO, ang pagiging cowboy doesn't mean only eating street food. Yung mga "cowboy" dapat walang arte sa katawan, can be placed in any situation and adopt to it, can eat anywhere / anything, and can mingle to people from all walks of life, irregardless of gender, age, nationality etc.
Just my two cents. Peace.Last edited by garfield_08; January 7th, 2011 at 10:58 AM. Reason: edit

Adelantado could mean you're ahead of your time....
Could also mean a Governor(?),- I remember they gave the title "Adelantado" to Miguel Lopez de Legazpi....
A Cowboy here. Knows how to mingle with almost everybody... A field/street worker, vendor or taxi driver(waiting for his passengers) could be my talking buddy in a few minutes....
