    Synopsis:
    TULAD NG DATI follows the current exploits of the
    Filipino rock band, The Dawn, composed of Teddy
    Diaz, JB Leonor, Caloy Balcells and Jett Pangan.
    During the second half of the 1980s, the band had
    risen to become the most influential musical rock
    group of the time. At the height of their popularity,
    their leader, Teddy Diaz is murdered. The remaining
    members decide to continue on with the music but
    eventually disband in 1996. In 2003, The Dawn
    reunited.
    Tulad ng Dati starts in 2006. It revolves around the
    character of Jett Pangan who is nearing his forties.
    Jett has lost his passion for music and life and
    entertains thoughts of retiring from the band. On a
    fateful night, Jett is assaulted by a burglar and
    goes into a coma. He wakes up with no memory of
    his life after 1988. He remembers that he is 20
    years old and is at the peak of his career with
    The Dawn. Not satisfied with how things turned out
    with his life, he tries to change everything back to
    the way it used to be.
    The path he takes while finding his place in this
    strange new world proves itself to be a tough,
    emotional, and sometimes hilarious journey—
    accompanied by the celebrated music of The
    Dawn, both past and present.

    Synopsis:
    Love is an ocean of emotions.

    Whalesharks, magnificent
    creatures of the deep, visit once a
    year the turquoise waters of Donsol.

    Daniel, the young guide who swims
    with the whalesharks, finds himself
    drawn to Teresa, a woman as beautiful
    and mysterious as the visitors of the
    sea. Burdened by past heartaches and
    uncertain of the future, the two find
    sanctuary in each other as love
    surfaces anew.

    As the tide rises and recedes in
    a cycle of loss and renewal, Donsol
    provides the breathtaking backdrop
    to a story of heartbreak, and the
    healing power of love.


    Thursday August 10, 2006 - "Ang Huling Araw ng Linggo"

    Synopsis:

    ANG HULING ARAW NG LINGGO is a story
    of seven individuals told in an
    interweaving manner. The film centers
    on the everday life and tribulations
    of the character. Each character is
    given a day to depict his or her
    life, disposition and resolution to
    his or her problems. Domeng is
    waiting inside the church; Linda is
    in tears while reading a letter;
    Aling Maritess is kissing a young
    man’s chest, Kulas is exchanging
    blows with his manager, Julie is
    following a man entering a house,
    Brian is breaking into a safe and
    Sally is approaching Domeng with a
    gun in her hand inside the church.
    The film begins and ends with the
    same scene, showing life as a cycle
    of random event in which decisions
    made are as important as the choices
    not taken.

    Filmaker Profile:
    NICK JOSEPH OLANKA is a graduating
    student of Film and Audio Visual
    Communication from the UP College of
    Mass Communication in Diliman. He has
    taken workshops in cinematography,
    photography and theater. For the UP
    Repertory Company, he directed Haplos
    ng Dahas, Sa Ngalan ng Ama, Sino Ba
    Kayo, New Yorker in Tondo, Parokyano
    and Ang Paglilitis Ni Mang Serapio.

    In film and video, he was director,
    writer and producer of Lunes ng
    Hapis, Happy Birthday Millie and
    Drive. He worked as production
    assistant for FILMEX under his summer
    internship program in 2004. His short
    film Lunes ng Hapis won the 2005
    Kodak Film School Competition and is
    the Philippine entry for the
    Asia-Pacific Kodak Film School
    Competition.
