Can you chrome plastic?

most signs /ensigma in cars and electronice part are chrome plated

parang yng ginawa dun sa last last year na transport show yng XRM dun at raider ganun ang kalalabasan. sori wala akong pics. Pero muka talga syang chrome. Tanong ko lng madali kaya matangal yun???

As long as it's a hard plastic that would not warp at elevated temp, it can be plated. The process is an elaborate one though. They have to metallized the whole part with copper first, and work it on with different metal layers with Chorome as the final one.

There ar some local plating shops that do it.

AFAIK chroming plastic is not possible locally, the method used is call vacuum metalizing.

Yup! Gusto ko sanang pa-chrome yung cellphone ko dati. Trip lang! hehehe! So I did a little research and the process is not available locally. Sayang!
