    Mr. jones was driving along the thruway with his son in the front seat. the road was icy. when mr. jones rounded a curve, his car skidded and rammed into a telephone pole.

    mr. jones was unhurt, but the boy broke several ribs. an ambulane took the boy to the nearest hospital. he was wheeled into the emergency operating room.

    the surgeon took one look at the patient and said, " i can't operate on this boy. He's my son!"

    how could this be?

    except for one whose gold bars weigh 9kg
    you are given a weighing scale and are allowed only one reading

    how will you know which of the goldmines has the 9kg gold bars?
    pwede ba to get one gold bar from each gold mine and put them on weighing scale one by one. then you would know which one weighs only 9kg.

    The description is actually incomplete since the conditions actually are as follow:

    If left alone, the fox could eat the rooster.
    if left alone, the rooster could eat the rice.

    Solution:

    Boat brings rooster to other side.
    Boat goes back.
    Boat brings fox to other side.
    Boat brings rooster back to original side.
    Boat brings rice to other side.
    Boat goes back.
    Boat brings rooster to other side.
    So, aside from the 3 characters, there was a boatman.

    Here's something from my son...

    "I turn polar bears white and I make you cry;
    I make boys pee and girls comb their hair;
    I make celebrities look s2pid and normal people look like celebrities;
    When you squeeze me, i'll pop and if you look at me you'll pop.

    Can you answer the riddle?"

    Note: Survey shows that 84% of Harvard students weren't able to answer this riddle correctly but 97% of Kindergarten students were able to give the right answer.

    This is the complete version:

    I turn polar bears white and I will make you cry.
    I make guys have to pee and girls comb their hair.
    I make celebrities look stupid and normal people look like celebrities.
    I turn pancakes brown and make your champagne bubble.
    If you squeeze me, I'll pop.
    If you look at me, you'll pop.
    Can you guess the riddle?
