not the flu virus. kaya nga dried chicken poop yung dangerous kasi yun ang mode of transmission nya.

btw, sars 3 ft away lang from host ang life? no, not true. if you watched discovery channel last night the elevator in hongkong continued to infect people even after days of the sick doctor riding in it on his way to the hospital. many of the people living in that hongkong apartment got sick of sars, 8 died. maybe you're thinking of HIV, patay agad when hit by sunlight, or the ebola virus which dies when exposed to air.

parang nabasa ko kasi dati nung peak ng SARS na you can safely talk with any person basta't you're more than 3ft away. baka nagiba siguro findings nila.

    dito ako medyo nalilito...

di ba technically ung virus isn't really "alive" until it comes into contact with its host(ain contrast to bacteria, which are true living microorganisms)? and when it does infect the host, there's really no remedy/medicine that can actually "kill" it, so magagawa mo lang is boost your immune system para ma "kill" or ma expel ung virus? kaya nga laging sinasabi na there's still no cure for the common cold?

and when it isn't in any living host, technically "dead" sya di ba? so how can something be killed if it's not alive in the first place?

"live" here means "having the ability to reproduce". so technically a virus is non-living when it is outside it's host, but it is alive since when it comes into contact with its host it can reproduce itself and therefore has life.

case in point: UV filter for drinking water. after the water passes through the UV filter the bacteria and viruses are still alive, but since they can no longer reproduce (the dna and rna are already disjointed after being hit by UV light and therefore their genetic blueprint is already gone) then they are "dead".

coz it's safer, by the very fact that dressed chicken can no longer poop
"dressed" chicken means that which has already been cleaned of its feathers and inards. so yung sinabi mo na chicken parts, that is also dressed chicken. as against "live" chicken (they still do sell live chicken at the wet markets)
