It has 3 settings for ride quality. Normal comfort and race. I tried all and theres a distinct difference in each. My preference was comfort and it felt supple enough .
The drive train has 3 settings as well race, normal and eco....guess where i left it in hehe.
I didnt touch the traction control settings. If i put it into race id have access to launch control. But i left it on default mode. Even with AWD you wanna have the safety of TC. This car is beastly. Acceleration always felt a magnitude greater than anything i have ever driven. But you had to be in the right gear ......
Speed compared to my former v8 GT mustang? Hmmmmm. Once youre in the right gear or on boost.....theres no comparison. The mustang is fast already. But this is a ballistic missle. It will easily overwhelm your senses AND skill. The mustang has the advantage when the GTR is on the wrong gear or OFF boost.....because it has a big 5.0 liter engine and doesnt rely on turbos for torque. Turbo lag is noticeable on the GTR. Thankfully it has paddles to keep you in the engine sweet spot but i find them very laggy on the downshifts. Unlike other cars ive driven with paddles (audi, mini, mustang). This is my biggest beef with this car. Laggy transmission on the downshifts (3 to 2 and the important 2 to 1) and turbo lag. Because its such a heavy car and a big wide one at that you have to plan your moves in advance.
AWD allows you to feel like a hero and put the power down anywhere anytime. Thats also a big difference with the mustang. I feel much safer on the limit in this GTR. The mustang sometimes felt lose in the rear under hard acceleration especially in corners.
Interior is nothing to write home about. the center console has a nice configurable screen where you can put widgets similar to the Torque OBD2 app available for android and apple ios. BuT this car definitely needs a HUD. Desparately even. I can never see my speed. Even if its on the center console as a readout. It is so fast that you only have eyes on the road. And the speedometer is small and on the left side of the big center tachometer. I have no time to move my eyes to check the speed as im busy trying to control the missle. So yeah definitely would appreciate a HUD.
Brakes and stopping power are super confidence inspiring. More than enough to handle fools like me who dont know how to manage the power of this car.
Do i like it? Its not without its flaws (i spent 1000 pesos on blaze for about 40km driving hehe) . It has no practicality. The transmission shows its age. But.....in order to get this kind of supercar performance you would have to spend 10m pesos MORE than the cost of this car. And no ------ a standard carrera 911 S wont cut it. You would have to be in 911 turbo or ferrari or lambo levels to get this kind of performance. LexuS LC500 need not bother trying to compete.
Hopefully mine arrives soon ;)
