It's working againI am so impressed with Lenovo. I could take a photo but people might lose whatever little respect they have for me. LOL!
I like the one on the left. I never bring my laptop naman, it's just in my roomMy basic requirement is durability, it should last me at least 5 yrs. My old office laptop issued to me in 2014 was a T430, kahit ganun specs okay na sakin. I also need at DVD R and most new laptops don't have it anymore.
BTT: My eyes were literally poked by my doctor this afternoon (to check the pressure) My eyes are a bit blurry (must be psychological) My boss chats me at 9 pm and asks me to send an email, I can't see the number. My boss is so amusing, he wants the least interaction with people so I am his middle man/messenger![]()
a laptop thats glued on a table will last forever. low power and minimal impacts on its mechanical drive if thats what youll get. what more if you get an m.2 drive or sata ssd. only thing that will fail is the fan motor. it will probably just need a drop of oil after 3 or 5years.
If you're not very particular with size then a 35-40k laptop will already be future proof and sufficient for your needs.
If you're really on a budget under 30k there are useable laptops for that price but spec-wise they're about 3 years out of date already.
A USB DVD reader costs under 2k if you buy one. None of the newer laptops have CD drives anymore. Not even that bulky 2014 Thinkpad L450 I posted (the one on the left).
If you're after durability, Thinkpad talaga. The higher end ones are made of carbon fiber, but even the lower end Lenovos are made of plastic yet they're quite durable too (my Ideapad Y310 is 11 years old and still working well).

This looks like a good starting point:

Down the road, performance can be improved through:
- ram is upgradeable to 16GB
- hdd can be swapped into a sata ssd

I wouldn't buy it. Still uses a 7th gen Intel processor, meaning it's a dual core.
Big big difference between the 7th and 8th gen Intel processors since the 8th gen is quad core for the i3, i5, and i7. Minimum to go for me would be an i5-8250U or AMD Ryzen 5 CPU.
For roughly the same price I'd say this Lenovo Ideapad 320 is a better buy since it already has an i3-8130U quad-core processor.

Also, if you'll spend on RAM (5k per 8GB stick) and an SSD (5k for 256GB), might as well get a more expensive laptop with those as standard.
An SSD makes a lot of difference in app loading times and boot times - makes the laptop feel much more responsive.
I also found this - 18k for an i5-4300U, 8GB RAM, and 256GB SSD. Secondhand Thinkpad T440 but these things last a lifetime anyway so still worth it IMO if you just need a reliable workhorse.

Pldt Home internet down for 3 days now. Wala pa din tech na pumunta to check pur line as both data and landline are dead. Pldt has the crappiest after sales support.

All set na ako to do my car's own wash this weekend. OC ako, so ayoko talaga ipa carwash hehe. Pero...
So 1k/1st month PMS nung car kanina. Iniwan ko na sa Service center sa mall.
Nagtext sakin at 10am, tapos na raw. Sabi ko balikan ko 11am. Sinilip ko pa from the office (kasi kita yung service center from the office), naka park pa sa service center.
Pag akyat ko, kita ko nakataas ang wipers."Sir okay na, pina car wash ko na din pati pina vacuum"
Praying na walang swirlsQuick inspect naman ako kanina, wala ako nakita even sa close up. Pero tsk!
