to hp & Ry!:
I'm not talking about call centers here but job outsourcing ng mga trabahong pwede pagawa nila sa labas tulad ng programming, graphics, accounting etc.
Just to give an example sa experience ko.
That's why naka-uwi ako dito sa Pinas after working in the US for 7 years. So far so good naman!

To make a long story short, we made a SOP tapos ayon dito nako ngayon sa Pinas.

September 5th, 2007 07:33 AM #35i wish i had that much money for capital. if i did, i'd go into real estate. even with just $1M, i'd look for repossessed property in a commercial area, fix it up, and repackage it for rental to business establishments. may palabigasan ka na for the rest of your life. retirement plan na yan for me.
actually, if you're a dollar millionaire (at the $4M range), i'd suggest you diversify and not put all the money in one basket. the monthly interest in say $2M should be more than enough for daily expenses, then put the next $1M in a low risk investment, and the last $1M you can play with and put in riskier endeavors. sarap nyan.

I'll try to help anybody interested about my experience. Pero siyempre nagsisimula rin lang ako. My venture can go bottoms up anytime like any other business but hopefully awa ng maykapal it will be successful.
Just a thought.... if those professionals working abroad will all come home to the Philippines and apply their gained knowledge & experience here to setup a business in our native land, diba parang mas ok?
Just like what the Japanese did several decades ago. Maybe it's not too late for the Pinoys?

September 5th, 2007 07:49 AM #37kwento ko pala:
there is this person who has a pastry shop. she's been operating it for 20+ years pero as of this time, her system has been set-up so well that it doesn't require much of her time. she visits each of her two branches just once or twice a week. talagang remote control na. ganda na ng systema niya. nowadays, during the xmas season, she rakes in upwards of 13M net profit. (yup, that is not a typo and that is just for the xmas season alone.) a conservative estimate is 20M net profit yearly. that's pure cool passive income.
she wakes up late in the mornings, finds a good read, walks the dog in her ultra upscale condo, and leisurely goes through her day. she travels abroad 4x a year. no stress. no pressure. no alarm clocks! she has this charity foundation which she dotes on and supports well.
honestly, i don't know her personally but i've met her. sarap ng buhay niya and you can tell just by talking to her. success and contentment are two things in life so difficult to define, much less reach. more than an absolute amount of money, this is what i wish i can accomplish.
na OT na ba ako? sorry. pero going back on where to invest $1M, i'm hoping that someday i could setup something like what she has accomplished.

If anybody is interested maybe we can make Tsikot.com the venue to make a survey sa mga professionals abroad na willing na bumalik sa Pinas to apply the knowledge and experience they gained to become entrepreneurs here.
I know deep in their hearts they care sa our native land kahit napakagulo talaga ng politics natin.
So I'm challenging every Pinoy abroad. The ones who already made their dreams come true sa kanilang adopted country. Why not contribute back to your bayang sinilangan?
I already started it! Anyone else brave enough to start a business here?

makibaka, makibaka, makibaka, makibaka, makibaka!
IIRC they're with AVID. The reported numbers in the TG article are from CAMPI.
