Yung dark blue ba yung sa Greenmeadows Ave? Tagal ko na nakikita yan dun, for sale nga yan dati pero no takers. Sa tingin ko matindi ang sira nyan kaya pinabayaan na lang yan, pero kung ibenta ng mura yan, pwede ko gawing parts car yan.

MAHAL talaga. The W140 range were the flagship models of MB back during the day. (90's). Everything was power this and power that, hindi biro ang diagnostics pag nagkaroon ng trouble code. Add to that, you need a very competent workshop to deal with the car. AFAIK, there are still a lot of W140's roaming the streets in fairly decent condition, this is my second W140 already, no regrets naman. Though I have to use a bit of elbow grease to fix the odd bits.
Basta hindi lang lumubog sa baha, or pinabayaan ng todo, IMHO pwede pa ma-salvage ang kotse. Just be prepared to spend though.
Yes, have CATS do an evaluation. You can also surf the internet for topics on that specific model, chances are, baka hindi lang ikaw ang may complaint na ganyan.
